ABOUT EXAM:
# A candidate should verify from the notified rules that he/she is eligible. The condition prescribed cannot be relaxed.
# The recruitment will be made by selection, but where a large number of applications are received, as a result of Advertisement, the Board may, for the purpose of short-listing, hold a preliminary examination.
# Direct Recruitment to the post for Librarian under Director of Health Services, Govt. of West Bengal.
Posts are temporary but likely to be permanent.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION:
Bachelor’s Degree in any Discipline with Diploma in Library Science from any recognized University,
- or -
Master’s Degree in any Discipline with Diploma in Library Science from any recognized University.
AGE: 18 - 39 years.
NATIONALITY: Indian Citizens and such other nationals as declared eligible by the Government of India.
SELECTION PROCEDURE:
The pattern of marks distribution for the post of Librarian
Marks obtained in Madhyamik /Secondary (Class 10) or its equivalent examinations: 10 (Max.)
Marks obtained in Higher Secondary (10 + 2) or its equivalent examinations – 10 (Max.)
Marks obtained in Graduation/ Degree Course – 10 (Max.)
Graduation in Pass Course – 5 (Max.)
Graduation with Hons. – 10 (Max.)
Bachelor of Library & Information Science (BLIS) – 30
Master of Library & Information Science (MLIS) – 10
Experience – 15 (Max.) *
a. Working experience in Govt. sector as Librarian – 15 (Max.)
b. Working experience in other sectors as Librarian – 10 (Max.)
Interview – 15 (Max)
As regards the distribution of marks for experience, the pattern of marks distribution is as follows:

# Teaching experience as Guest Librarian/Academic Counselor (being a part-time job) not to be considered.
# Experience < 1 Year not to be considered. Only Experience >= 1 Year to be counted.
APPLICATION FEES/ INTIMATION CHARGES:
Candidates must submit the application fee amounting to Rs. 160/- (Rupees one hundred & sixty) only through Banks participating in the GRPS (Govt. Receipt Portal System), Govt. of West Bengal under the Head of Account '0051-00-104-002-16'.
Money order, Cheque, Bank Draft, Cash, etc. shall not be acceptable.
No application shall be considered unless accompanied with the requisite application fee excepting Candidates belonging to SC/ST category of West Bengal and persons with disabilities specified under Disabilities Rule, 1999 (certificates obtained before the Advertisement date), who do not require to pay any fee.
Such exemption of fee is, however, not applicable to any OBC (category A or B) candidate.
