ABOUT EXAM:

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION:
Essential:
(i) A second class Honours or a second class Master’s degree of a recognized University or its equivalent;
(ii) A Bachelor degree in Teaching or Education from a recognized University or its equivalent;
(iii) Good knowledge in Bengali/Nepali – spoken and written &
(iv) Ability to undertake extensive tour on official duty.
Desirable
(i) Teaching experience in Schools &
(ii) Ability to organize extra-curricular activities.
AGE: Not more than 36 years.
NATIONALITY: Must be a citizen of India.
SELECTION PROCEDURE
The prescribed ‘essential qualifications’ are the minimum and mere possession of the same does not entitle applicants to be called in for the interview. Where the number of applications received in response to the advertisement is large and it is not convenient or possible for the Commission to interview all the applicants the Commission may restrict the number of candidates for interview to a reasonable limit on the basis of either higher qualifications in the relevant subjects/higher standard of marks/grade obtained in the essential qualifications or experience in relevant field higher than the minimum prescribed in the advertisement or on the basis of a Screening Test/Written Test. The Commission may fix qualifying cut-off marks for all the categories of the vacancies in each level of examination, i.e. written, interview and aggregate.
SYLLABUS FOR SCREENING TEST:
TIME: 1 Hour30 Minutes
FULL MARKS: 100
# The Test (M.C.Q. type) will comprise of 50 questions on Education and 50 questions on General Studies & Arithmetic, each carrying 1 mark.
# The standard of questions on Education will be equivalent to that of B.Ed. Examination.
# The questions on General Studies will be on matters of common experience and current events.
# The standard of questions on Arithmetic will be equivalent to that of Madhyamik Examination of the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education.
APPLICATION FEE:
Rs. 160/- (Rupees one hundred sixty) only.
In addition to that, the candidate will be charged as follows:
For online payment through debit/credit cards: Convenience fee 1% of the examination fee subject to a minimum of Rs. 5/- (Rupees Five) only plus 18% G.S.T. on convenience fee.
For online payment through net banking: Convenience fee of Rs. 5/- (Rupees Five) only plus 18% G.S.T. on convenience fee.
For offline payment through bank counter: Service Charge of Rs. 20/- (Rupees Twenty) only.
S.C./S.T. candidates of West Bengal and Persons with disabilities (P.W.D.) having physical disability of 40% and above are not required to pay any fee.
OBC candidates of West Bengal are, however, required to pay usual fee as aforesaid.
NO EXEMPTION OF FEE IS AVAILABLE TO S.C./S.T. CANDIDATES OF OTHER STATES AND O.B.C. CANDIDATES.
No claim for refund of the fee will be entertained nor will it be held in reserve for any other examination.
