Two Digit Number Multiplication (Shortcut Method):

In that case, by 3 steps we can solve the multiplication

Example 1:

Let us take one example to multiply 23 by 12.

Step 1: At first we need to multiply the unit place digit of both the number. The last digit will be the unit digit of the result. If there is another digit then that will be carried forwarded to the next step.

In this case, no carry is there.

Step 2: In this step, we need to do cross multiplication and then need to add them. Also, remember to add the digit from the previous step. The unit place digit of that sum will be the Tens place digit of the final result and the other digits will be carry forwarded to the next step.

Step 3: Now in this step we need to multiply the tens place digit and add that with the number coming from the previous step.

∴ So, the result is 276.

Example 2:

Let us take another example to multiply 57 by 25.

Step 1: At first we need to multiply the unit place digit of both the number. The last digit will be the unit digit of the result. If there is another digit then that will be carried forwarded to the next step.

∴ So, the result is 1425

Example 3:

Let us take another example.

Multiplication of 45 X 26

Step 1:

Step 2:

Step 3:

∴ The answer is 1170
