Three Digit Number Multiplication

In that case, by 5 steps we can solve the multiplication

We solve by selecting “2 4 6 4 2” digit multiplication. Initially, we take 2 digit multiplication then 4 digit multiplication, after that 6 digit multiplication then 4 digit multiplication, and lastly 2 digit multiplication.

Example 1:

Let us take one example 733 × 615

Step 1: At first we need to multiply the unit place digit of both numbers. The last digit of that multiplication will be the unit digit of the result and other digits will be carry forwarded to the next step.

Step 2: In this step, we need to do cross multiplication the unit and tens place digit of both the number and need to add them. Also, remember to add the digit from the previous step. The unit place digit of that sum will be the tens place digit of the final result and the other digits will be carry forwarded to the next step.

Step 3: In this step you need to do cross multiplication of unit place and hundred place digit and also need to multiply both tens place digit. Now need to add them with the digit coming from the previous step. The unit place digit of that sum will be the hundred place digit of the final result and other digits will be carried forwarded to the next step.

Step 4: In this step, we need to do cross multiplication of hundred and tens place digit and need to add them with the digit coming from the previous step. The unit place digit of that sum will be the thousand’s place digit of the result and other digits will be carry forwarded to the next step.

Step 5: This is the last step. In this step, we need to simply multiply the hundred’s place digit and need to add them with the digit coming from the previous step. Then we need to write the result.

So, the answer is 420795.

Example 2:

Let us take another example-

135 × 267

Step 1:

Step 2:

Step 3:

Step 4:

Step 5:

So, the answer is 36045.
